Cleshar's Water Considerations

Cleshar's Water Considerations

Cleshar is constantly improving its commitment to education and action around sustainability, and our latest involvement in environmental initiatives reflects that ongoing dedication.

We’re proud to be supporting the River Brent Imperial Run-off Project, a funded collaboration with Imperial College London, focused on monitoring and improving the health of urban waterways.

Volunteers from Cleshar are working alongside researchers to collect “first flush” samples from across the Brent catchment, helping identify pollutants, particularly those from tyre wear, that threaten aquatic life.

An induction session held in March at Imperial marked the start of this important work, which continues through 2025.

The next phase will see us assisting in targeted sampling at key locations during rainfall events, capturing critical data to inform long-term water quality improvements.

This hands-on involvement directly complements the insights we gained at the Water Industry Summit, hosted by the The UK Water Partnership.

The theme was River Health and Restoring Public Trust, and by attending this event, we had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, young professionals, and environmental advocates, contributing to a wider dialogue on what a cleaner, more sustainable water future should look like.

These experiences reinforce our ambition to protect blue-green spaces, support science-led solutions, and restore public trust in the value of our natural environment.

Through collaborative action and education, Cleshar continues to invest in a healthier future for our communities and ecosystems.
