OUR SUPPORT SERVICES' TEAMS ARE MADE UP OF SKILLED INDIVIDUALS WHO WORK 24/7 TO PROVIDE A CLEAN AND SAFE RAIL ENVIRONMENT, FROM MAINTAINING LINESIDE VEGETATION TO REMOVING LITTER.

Awarded its first contract in 1994 on the Piccadilly Line, today Cleshar is London Underground's sole provider of trackside vegetation and arboricultural management services across the whole network, including fencing repairs and leaf adhesion management. Every day we deploy 200 staff to undertake planned works and are always on hand to respond to emergencies, such as fallen trees on the track following severe weather. Daily surveillance reports produced by our specialists alert London Underground to any vegetation or arboricultural conditions that pose particular risk to train, passenger, and third-party safety.

Our 100-strong track and tunnel services’ team ensures that all stations, tunnels, and open sections of the London Underground network remain clear of litter, debris, and graffiti. We remove excess dust from the tunnels to improve air quality.

We provide winter preparedness teams on a reactive basis to spread grit on station platforms and stairs to keep pedestrians and passengers safe during icy weather.

To keep London Underground's escalators working safely and efficiently, our specialist teams carry out nightly intermediate and major cleaning, including litter and dust removal, degreasing and regreasing, and weights' testing.

Complementing our broad range of support services are the minor and intermediate works that form part of our Premises and Civils Frameworks with Transport for London and Network Rail. Our responsibilities are varied, from repairing brickwork to fitting out offices, calling on the skills of our multi-disciplinary teams.

More recently, we have received approval from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) to install electric vehicle charging points based on our NICEIC certification.
