This day serves as an important reminder to reflect on how we can better support mental health and wellbeing in every aspect of our lives, including the workplace.
According to HSE statistics, in 2023/24 around half of all work-related ill health in Great Britain was caused by stress, depression, or anxiety, with affected workers taking an average of 20 days off. The impact on businesses is clear: more absence, lower productivity, and higher turnover.
At CCS Group, we believe that wellbeing at work isn’t just important, it’s essential. That’s why, to mark World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to introduce our new Wellbeing at Work Procedure (P152).
This procedure provides practical guidance and a clear framework to help us continue fostering a positive, engaging, and supportive working environment for everyone across our business.
Earlier this week, we also held our first Safety Standdown at our Cockfosters site, focusing on wellbeing and stress management. The session, led by an external wellbeing professional, included group counselling, a talk on managing stress, and a short, guided meditation for all attendees.
We received excellent feedback from our workforce and others who joined the event. It was great to see such engagement and openness around the topic.
Together, this event and our new procedure mark an important step forward in strengthening our management system and reinforcing our ongoing commitment to safeguard not only the health and safety but also the wellbeing of everyone at CCS.
Thank you to everyone for continuing to support a safe, healthy, and positive workplace.
